Fighting Body Pollution

Cancer, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, autoimmune diseases and other chronic diseases are modern-society plaques. The epidemiological investigation showed that one in three North American people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime, one in ten people in the world are suffering from diabetes, and heart disease alone contributes to one third of all global death! Researchers demonstrated that body pollution with variety toxins are the major cause of these human diseases.

There are three sources of toxins: exogenous toxins, endogenous toxins, and a combination of both toxins. The exogenous toxins are from the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, the medical drugs we take, and the chemicals we use.

Studies showed that more than one billion people are regularly exposed to levels of indoor air pollution exceeding WHO guidelines by up to 100 times; 30-40% of asthma cases and 20-30% of all respiratory diseases are directly linked to air pollution. In Canada, 5000 premature deaths per year are linked to air pollution while increasing air pollution in Hong Kong results in 2000 premature deaths per year from respiratory diseases. In USA, over 80% of streams and rivers are contaminated with a broad array of medical drugs, including hormones, antibiotics, antidepressants and heart medications, as well as chemicals from agriculture, personal care and household cleaning products. Millions of people around the world have no choice but to consume water that exceeds the lead contamination level deemed acceptable by the WHO. If we take a look at the diets we take everyday, we’ll see that over 10,000 food chemicals and additives are currently in use in our food supply, and the average person consumes more than fourteen pounds of food chemicals and additives each year. That means that over the course of a normal lifespan, we’ll consume more than one thousand pounds of food chemicals and additives, not including these found in air and water!

The diets that people take recently seem to consist mostly of saturated fats, meat, sugar and salt with a shortage of fresh fruits and vegetables. All of them are acidifiable food and can be transformed to a variety of toxic wastes during the course of metabolism in our body. These acidic wastes produced by our body are termed as endogenous toxins. Endogenous toxins also can be generated in our body during the stressful situation, such as the harmful hormones, that make body to generate more free radicals.

The combination of toxins means electromagnetic waves, ultrasonic waves, ionizing radiation and noise pollution. When people exposed to these harmful elements, it can interfere with our body’s normal rhythms and generate endogenous toxins.

Free radicals are one of the most destructive by-products of body pollution. They are produced naturally by the body in small amounts, but when too many are created as a result of body pollution overload it may be a culprit in many illnesses such as cancer, arthritis, diabetes, cataracts and heart disease. There are many evidences that they not only contribute to disease but also accelerate the aging process as well.

Every living creature has measurable levels of toxic chemicals and acidic metabolite accumulated in the body which when released can cause cellular and chromatin damage. These damages then result in organ damage and a weakened immune system. It’s believed that toxic chemicals in the body can reduce immune capacity by more than 50%. As we know, immune system is the main protecting system in the body which takes a responsibility for defending viruses, bacteria and other foreign invaders, monitoring cancer cells, cleansing wasters, repairing damaged tissues and maintaining optimal health. When the immune system is overload and damaged from body pollution, poor nutrition or stress, it can't keep up with the protection of our body from illnesses. In fact, the disorderly immune system can sometimes attack the very body it was meant to defend. This is exactly what happens with autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

Since we live in this modern environment, ingesting these toxins is inevitable. Many of these pollutants end up being stored in our bodies. Once these toxins are accumulated in the body, it has to be detoxified and made water soluble so that it can be safely eliminated. The immune system, the liver and the kidneys are the main organs responsible for detoxification while the lungs, skin and intestines also play an important role. Unfortunately, the genetic structure of our bodies is simply never designed to metabolize and digest these modern adulterated foods and our system struggle to detoxify such overwhelming amounts of pollution. Even with all these powerful allies on our side, our bodies simply can’t detoxify and eliminate all the exogenous and endogenous toxins. When the organs have more toxins then they can handle, the toxins are stored in the fatty tissues. These reactive and toxic compounds can be released into the blood stream, disrupting the system of the body and causing premature aging and diseases.

Body pollution is very real and our body has been overloaded, so it is very important for us to take a regular measure to protect our health and heal the damages of body pollution by detoxifying and discharging the toxins from our bodies.

There are ultimate weapons in the fight against body pollution:
1. A healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise;
2. Smart food choices;
3. Nutritional supplements;
4. Detoxification and cleansing treatments.
